Giant Panda Breeding Center and Research Base Chengdu Research Base of Giant Panda Breeding is situated on the Axe Hill 10 kilometers from the north suburb of Chengdu City. Du Fu's Thatched Cottage Park & Museum The cottage is part of a park filled with statues of Du Fu and other poets, shrines, gardens, and two pagodas. Du Fu, along with Li Bai, are the two most famous poets in Chinese history. River Viewing Pavillion Park River Viewing Pavillion Park is much more peaceful and interesting than its bland name suggests. The park features a four-story Qing dynasty pagoda built between 1886 and 1889. It provides a fantastic unobstructed view of a large portion of the Brocade river as well as the Chengdu skyline. People's Park the People’s Park, is just a block barely southwest of Tianfu Square. Full of vegetation and shade, it is a great place to beat the heat, play cards, or just lay about with friends or family. Jinli Promenade. Past the teahouse begins a long line of fancy shops selling traditional Chinese, Tibetan, and Indian clothing and jewelry. Other souvenir shops sell jade, wood crafts, engravings, paper cutting artwork weaving, traditional Chinese paintings, and photographs. As you walk past a small goldfish pond The Tibetan Neighborhood Near Wuhou Shrine and the Southwest University for Nationalities is a small neighborhood that features Tibetan shops and restaurants. There is usually a handful of Tibetan monks, dressed in traditional red and yellow attire, milling about the area as well. Wenshu Monastery The Manjushri Temple in the north of the town covers an area of 5ha/12.5acres. There are numerous of Buddhist cultural relics and arts in the Scriptures Hall.
